We are seeking an inspiring BHS Stage 4 (BHSII) Qualified Coach to join our Riding Academy as a Teacher of Equine Studies. This is a pivotal role for a professional who enjoys the balance of practical yard management and academic classroom delivery.

You will lead the implementation of our new two-year programme for Years 10 & 11 (BHS Challenge Awards, Ride Safe, and Stages 1 & 2) and support our BTEC Level 3 Equine Management students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and teach the Equine Studies GCSE option and BTEC Level 3 units.

  • Versatile Instruction: Deliver high-quality lessons across three environments: classroom (theory), yard (practical), and arena (ridden).

  • Student Progress: Maintain assessment records and provide feedback to parents and senior management.

  • Academy Life: Contribute to the vibrant extra-curricular life of the Riding Academy.

Requirements

Essential:

  • BHS Stage 4 / BHSII (or equivalent).

  • Ability to teach theory, practical, and ridden elements.

  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).

  • Current First Aid certificate.

  • A deep commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Desirable:

  • Experience in delivering BTEC or BHS professional pathways.

  • Ability to adapt teaching styles (e-learning, group work, and practical investigations).
