At Equibreed UK – where science meets service, we are redefining excellence in equine reproduction. As one of the UK’s leading independent reproductive centres, we combine cutting-edge science with meticulous care and outstanding client service to deliver exceptional results for mares, stallions, and breeders.

We are now seeking a Stable Manager to play a pivotal leadership role at the heart of our operation.

The Opportunity

This is not a standard yard role.

This is an opportunity to lead a high-performance equine facility operating at the forefront of reproductive veterinary medicine - where attention to detail, teamwork, and professionalism directly influence clinical success and client outcomes.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management, ensuring the highest standards of horse welfare, team leadership, operational efficiency and presentation are consistently delivered.

About the Role

As Stable Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the team for the care and management of a diverse population of horses, including stallions, donor mares, recipient mares, and client horses

  • Lead and develop a team of grooms, setting clear expectations and maintaining a positive, high-performing culture

  • Work closely with our veterinary and laboratory teams to support advanced reproductive procedures including semen collection, embryo transfer, and foaling

  • Maintain exceptional standards of horse welfare, biosecurity, and organisation

  • Ensure the smooth running of both clinic and yard environments, including specialist areas such as semen labs and embryo facilities

  • Take ownership of stock control, facilities management, and operational efficiency

  • Support a professional, welcoming client experience aligned with our brand

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring initiative, resilience, and a commitment to doing things properly—every time.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Is confident leading, motivating, and developing a team

  • Has significant experience in practical management

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of equine health, welfare, and high-performance standards

  • Is highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused

  • Communicates clearly and professionally with both colleagues and clients

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment

  • Is aligned with our ethos of precision, professionalism, and pride in the job

Formal equine qualifications are valued, but attitude, experience, and leadership ability are paramount.

Our Culture & Values

At Equibreed, everything we do is guided by our core principles:

  • Excellence – We hold ourselves to the highest standards in every detail

  • Science-led Innovation – We work at the cutting edge of equine reproduction

Why Join Equibreed UK?

  • Work within a progressive, forward-thinking reproductive practice

  • Be part of a team delivering industry-leading clinical outcomes

  • Operate in an environment where detail, standards, and innovation truly matter

  • Opportunity to grow, develop, and shape the role

  • Contribute to a business with a clear vision:

  • To set the benchmark for equine reproduction in the UK and beyond

Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is essential. This includes:

  • Early mornings, evenings, and weekends
