This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of Sponsorship and Commercial Sales Executive and join Grandstand Media Limited (GML) for Horse of the Year Show. Alongside other supporting equestrian events that the business organises.
GML is a team of specialists with many years’ experience planning, organising and running equine events. Most notably Horse of the Year Show (Birmingham, CSI 3*) which GML has organised since 1997 the event now welcomes over 60,000 visitors in October at the NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships and Stoneleigh Horse Show was added to the company profile in 2015.
Role Purpose
This is a diverse and exciting role suited to a motivated and commercially driven individual who can bring strong relationship-building skills and organisational expertise to the team. The primary focus of the position is to support and grow a portfolio of strategic partnerships, applying commercial creativity and strategic thinking to ensure our partners receive genuine value from their involvement. The role will support the growth of our events, you will play a key role in driving revenue, handling sales enquiries and bookings, as well as supporting the administration and delivery of hospitality packages and special ticket offerings.
This is a full-time position with an immediate start, located at the GML offices at Stoneleigh Park. Additionally, during events the applicant will be required, along with the company’s other personnel (at the expense of the company) to be based at the host venue of the event.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development and delivery of commercial partnerships, ensuring outcomes meet commercial, customer, and brand reputation goals.
Identify and evaluate new business partners, sponsorships and licensing opportunities that align with the values and the integrity of the brand.
Lead the preparation of sponsorship proposals and renewal negotiations, ensuring contracts are delivered accurately and on time.
Account manage partners, ensuring relationships are maintained and partnership benefits are successfully activated.
Provide insightful reporting across revenue streams and commercial activity, maintaining a strong sales pipeline.
Handle incoming enquiries and office calls, professionally converting interest into confirmed bookings and identifying upselling opportunities.
Managing hospitality sales and ticket packages including ticket activation and onsite event coordination.
Collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality sponsorship activations, brand experiences and hospitality offerings.
Assist with a variety of situations at the show, answering and dealing with queries as and when required, liaising with press and welcoming guests and sponsors.
Work to deadlines and targets set by the Marketing Manager.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Personable, confident and a demonstrated aptitude to develop and maintain relationships.
Proven experience in business development, sales or account management.
Strong commercial judgement and negotiations skills.
Ability to prioritise work, proven organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Positive attitude and professional presentation with well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Flexible approach to tasks with the ability to work concurrently on different projects.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as the ability to use own initiative.
Strong multi-tasking ability with the capability of working calmly under pressure.
Interest in keeping up to date with current issues in the events/equestrian industry.
Proficient use of MS office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Hours of work Monday-Friday inclusive, 9:00am – 5:00pm, based at the offices at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire
Working at events may require a minimum of 8 weekend days per annum
