We are an international competition venue and leading UK equestrian training centre with an outstanding reputation and premium facilities. Wellington Riding has a unique and beautiful location, set within 500 acres of the Duke of Wellington’s Hampshire Estate.
To assist the Events and Shows Manager in the planning, scheduling, preparation and execution of shows and events at Wellington Riding. This will involve a wide range of duties and attention to detail, so we are looking for a confident, friendly, professional person with great interpersonal skills, a ‘down to earth’ style and an efficient can-do attitude. Wellington Riding covers many facets of the industry which makes this a very diverse role and an exciting new challenge for the successful candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities
Planning, preparation and administration of shows and events run by Wellington Riding and liaison with those booked by outside agencies.
Accurate file management and data entry.
Sole responsibility of events office on certain show days.
Recruitment and retention of volunteer programme.
Reporting to the General Manager on request.
Obtaining separate quotes for contractors and services for shows and events.
Close communication and liaison with other departments.
Updating and maintaining relevant pages of company social media platforms.
Planning and administration of advertising and publicity schedule to promote events and issue timely results and press materials on completion of events.
Preparation and maintenance of financial information regarding the shows and events to include handling of payments for entries, expenses and prize monies.
Coordination of staff, students and volunteers to ensure the efficient running of the shows and events. This may include organising and attending meetings between departments to communicate plans for shows and events.
Attend and oversee the events on site.
Communication and liaison with other key staff on site to ensure the smooth running of the shows and events, both before the event and on the day.
Ensure the correct levels of equipment for shows and events in liaison with staff who maintain and prepare that equipment.
Ensure correct health and safety legislation is followed by competitors, visitors and staff.
Ensure security and confidentiality of all client and event files and records and maintain an efficient filing system for this data.
Liaison with outside agencies concerned with shows and events i.e. BE, BD, BS etc and attendance at meetings organised by these committees as necessary to keep up to date with current developments and rules and regulations.
Undertake general office duties to include, answering telephones, responding to general enquiries in person, by email or on the telephone.
Actively engage in and promote all aspects of the business at Wellington Riding.
Working hours: 5 days per week: usually 08:45am – 5:45pm, will include regular weekend working and flexibility of hours on event days.
Holidays: 28 days to include statutory holidays. Due to the needs of the business bank holidays are considered to be working days.
Holiday cover: You will need to be available to cover occasional alternate working days as holiday cover for other Event staff.
Salary: Package dependent on individual suitability for the position.

Candidates need to reside within a reasonable commute to our location based at Heckfield, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 0LJ
