Houghton Country Ltd is seeking a driven and knowledgeable Retail Store Manager to take ownership of our store and lead from the front.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong equestrian knowledge and solid retail management experience. You will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the store, ensuring high standards across staff performance, stock control, and merchandising.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operation of the retail store

  • Lead, motivate and support store staff

  • Plan and manage staff rotas

  • Oversee stock levels, replenishment and organisation

  • Maintain strong visual merchandising standards

  • Deliver excellent customer service

  • Use equestrian knowledge to assist customers and support sales

  • Help drive store performance and meet business goals

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Retail Manager or Supervisor

  • Strong equestrian knowledge

  • Proven leadership and team management skills

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Experience in stock management and merchandising

  • Customer-focused with a proactive attitude
