We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Equine Nutritionist to support our team on a consultancy basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate equine nutrition professional who enjoys combining scientific expertise with practical application, education and customer engagement. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our Commercial Equine Team while helping customers and retail partners make informed nutritional decisions that improve horse health, wellbeing and performance.
The Role
Reporting into the UK National Sales Manager, you will work collaboratively across the business, providing expert nutritional guidance and technical support to colleagues, customers and trade partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and interpreting forage analysis reports, providing practical recommendations tailored to individual horses and management systems.
Conducting comprehensive equine diet and ration evaluations, delivering evidence-based nutritional advice.
Writing engaging technical articles, educational resources and nutritional content across a wide range of equine topics.
Developing and delivering nutritional training programmes for the GAIN Equine Commercial Team.
Providing technical training and educational support for stockists, retailers and industry partners.
Supporting customers through telephone, email and face-to-face consultations, building trusted long-term relationships.
Undertaking customer visits throughout the UK, with occasional travel to Ireland and international markets to support the wider business.
Representing GAIN Equine Nutrition at trade events, exhibitions, educational seminars and customer meetings.
Working closely with commercial, marketing and product development teams to ensure our technical expertise continues to support innovation and business growth.
About You
You will be an experienced equine nutrition professional who combines excellent technical knowledge with outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
You will have:
Registration as an Equine Nutritionist with an appropriate recognised professional body.
A degree (or higher qualification) in Equine Science, Animal Science, Animal Nutrition or a closely related discipline.
Strong technical expertise in equine nutrition, forage evaluation and practical feeding management.
The ability to communicate complex nutritional concepts clearly to audiences ranging from horse owners to industry professionals.
Experience delivering presentations, workshops or technical training with confidence and enthusiasm.
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce engaging technical articles and educational content.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and occasionally internationally.

The ideal candidate will be located centrally in England. The work is offered on a consultancy basis, working from home with client visits & travel as required, offering approx 2 days work per week.
