The practice is centred in smart purpose-built offices in a scenic rural setting (Hitchin). A spacious open-plan working environment features excellent IT and communications infrastructure, with full systems support. Providing premium equine veterinary care around-the-clock, every day of the year, the practice operates throughout Hertfordshire, South Bedfordshire, South Cambridgeshire, North London, Essex and Epping Forest.

The Role
This position (Practice Administrator) is maternity cover with the possibility of permanency. It is ideal for a positive, adaptable, enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys playing a proactive role within a committed, energetic and highly professional team. The job covers a range of practice administrative duties including:
Handling day-to-day client queries and booking veterinary visits.
Processing client payments and settlement of invoices.
Liaison with other veterinary practices, hospitals and laboratories.
Credit control.
Efficient routing of veterinary surgeons’ schedules in real time.
Ensuring data on the Practice Management System is accurate and complete.
Assisting in the management of client insurance claims.
Supporting the veterinary surgeons with information whilst they are out on visits.
Attending and participating in staff and management meetings.
Undertaking staff training.
Performing additional tasks as required by the practice management.
Ensuring GDPR and data security/protection compliance at all times.
The Candidate

Experience of the veterinary sector is not a prerequisite, but some professional services or customer service experience will prove invaluable. Key attributes required to fulfil the role include an abundance of common sense, an outstanding work ethic, excellent organisational skills and a mature, empathetic approach to client communications. Applicants will be required to evidence their understanding of, and current familiarity with, horses and ponies, and show an active interest in, and support for, equestrian and countryside sports.
An excellent telephone manner and first-class written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Personal presentation must be first class. The position requires frequent contact with clients, the Ballinger Equine clinical team and professional clinical and administrative colleagues within the sector. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount as is strict adherence to GDPR, client confidentiality and data security.
Salary
£24k to £35k according to experience.
Hours
Monday to Friday 0830hrs to 1700hrs (except bank holidays).
Maternity cover with the possibility of permanency
Full-time, office based, Hitchin
28 days annual leave.
Uniform provided.
