A fantastic opportunity to join Grandstand Group Limited, to work within a busy office as an administrator for one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the UK – Horse of the Year Show, and other events that we run including the British Showjumping National Championships, Stoneleigh Horse Show and The Showing Register.

This role is for an immediate start, full time, permanent.

This is a diverse role to support the function of the marketing department and to assist with the general running of the events. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to prioritise their workload and to work both independently and as part of a team, they should have experience of working in a customer focused environment and a drive to be proactive.
Grandstand Group is formed of Grandstand Media Limited and Grandstand Stoneleigh Events Limited.
Grandstand Media Limited is a team of specialists with many years’ experience planning, organising and running equine events. Most notably Horse of the Year Show (Birmingham, CSI 3*) which GML has organised since 1997 the event now welcomes over 60,000 visitors in October at the NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships and Stoneleigh Horse Show was added to the company profile in 2015.

This is a full-time position located at the group’s offices at Stoneleigh Park. Additionally during an event the applicant will be required, along with the company’s other personnel (at the expense of the company) to be based at the host venue of the event. This currently involves staying at the NEC Birmingham for up to ten days in October and at NAEC Stoneleigh in August each year.
This person will report directly into the Event/Venue Director.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proficient in the use of databases and MS Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Literate in the use of social media platforms including facebook and Instagram.

  • Excellent ‘people skills’.

  • Flexible approach to work and ability to switch from one task to another.

  • Ability to work in a team and able to use own initiative.

  • Excellent time keeping.

  • Excellent English/writing skills.

  • Confident and approachable telephone manner.

  • Great administration skills and multi-tasking abilities.

  • Hours of work Monday-Friday inclusive, 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • Working at events may require a minimum of 8 weekend days. The applicant must understand the requirement for extra hours (within the basic salary contract) both prior to and during the Events.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General support of all office departments with various duties including data entry and analysis, mailouts and other administration as necessary.

  • Assisting with answering telephone enquiries.

  • Managing the social media and press inboxes and responding accordingly.

  • Liasing with suppliers for printing costs and quotes and organising orders as appropriate.

  • Proof reading and some copy writing to support the marketing manager.

  • Sourcing images and video content for use in campaigns and promotion.

  • Scheduling newsletter send outs and reporting on activity.

  • Dealing with enquiries on site during events.

  • Facilitating meet and greets, course walks and backstage tours at events.
