On behalf of a client we are seeking an experienced, commercially focused and results-driven sales and management professional to lead the sales function. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic mindset, a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, strong relationship building skills and a track record of driving sustainable revenue growth in a B2B environment. 

As Head of Sales you will play a pivotal role in defining the sales strategy, managing key accounts, and expanding our market presence, both in the UK and Internationally. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company’s sales strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets and KPIs.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships, including new routes to market, with an ability to lead international growth

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, manage key accounts and internal sales. 

  • Develop strategy, implementation and involvment of export growth

  • Implement and manage retailer and partner incentive programmes, to reward growth.

  • Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting to ensure accuracy and aid business planning. 

  • Implement a B2B CRM strategy in order to drive sales team effectiveness, pipeline and overall sales hygiene.

  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless execution of go-to-market plans.

  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Establish performance metrics, incentive programs, and career development paths for the sales team.

  • Act as an ambassador for the brand in the market, representing the company at key industry events and forums. 

  • Form a key part of the leadership team within the business.

About you

●     Proven senior leadership experience min 5 years, with a B2B sales background.

●     Strong strategic and commercial thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

●     Demonstrated success in building and managing high-performance sales teams.

●     Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

●     Experience with CRM tools and data-driven sales processes.

●     Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Preferred Experience:

●     Experience in equine / pet / veterinary / outdoor sector.

●     Experience in building sales in international markets.

●     Proven track record of building and retaining high performing sales teams. 

Location: The role is home/field based with travel to customers and key locations/HQ.  Candidates will ideally be based centrally in England, able to travel as required.
