Being a British Horse Society Approved centre means that the standards have to be maintained. We are able to offer training towards BHS exams and regularly hold BHS Stage 1 exams. We have extremely qualified and passionate instructors as well as amazing horses and ponies. We are also a Pony Club approved centre and our Pony Club co-ordinator Georgia is very highly qualified, having competed in Pony Club champs for Great Britain. We have won a national quiz in 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2022 and came 2nd in 2023 as a centre at National level.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and highly organised yard manager to join our busy and established equestrian centre in Cobham, Surrey.
This is a hands-on management role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the yard, managing staff and maintaining the highest standard of horse welfare, customer service and yard presentation.
Key responsibilities -
Managing the day-to-day running and organisation of a busy equestrian yard.
Leading, supporting and managing a team of staff.
Creating daily work plans and allocating duties to staff.
Ensuring high standards of horse and pony welfare are maintained at all times.
Monitoring the health, behaviour and general wellbeing of the horses and ponies.
Liaising with veterinary surgeons, farriers, dentist, saddler, physio and other equine professionals.
Ensuring accurate horse health and welfare records are maintained.
Managing and resolving day-to-day staff issues and supporting the wider management team.
Ensuring the yard, stables and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the yard.
Dealing professionally with clients
Being actively involved in the practical, hands on running of the yard.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must have:
A minimum of BHS Stage 3 qualification
Previous management experience within an equestrian environment
Excellent knowledge of horse care, welfare and stable management
Experience managing and motivating a team of staff
Strong organisational and communication skills
The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise a busy workload
High standards and excellent attention to detail

salary dependant on experience and qualifications
Days off to be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate
Weekend work will be required as part of the role
