Equine Veterinary Nursing Assistant

We have a vacancy at our independently owned equine veterinary practice for a full-time Equine Veterinary Nursing Assistant/Yard Groom.   This is an exciting and varied role, working alongside a friendly, compassionate and dynamic team who offer the very best in equine care.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with horses and have excellent horse-handling skills. Previous nursing experience is not necessary as training will be provided but a good level of equine work experience is essential for this role and applicants must be hard working, organised, adaptable and have an excellent level of customer care.

The role will involve an on-call rota, including weekends for which payment and day off in lieu is provided. We are based at our Practice in Ratley (OX15 6DT), situated between Leamington Spa and Banbury.  You must live within 25 minutes of the practice, or stay at our on-site accommodation when on call if you live further afield.  Full-time accommodation in a shared house may be available if required (chargeable).

This role involves working with a diverse client-base encompassing studs, racing yards, competition horses, general riding horses and the retired/charity sector. We have a well-equipped clinic with full inpatient facilities, and a modern range of mobile diagnostic equipment. Our team comprises 7 veterinary surgeons (including 2 owner/directors), a nursing team of 3 and administration/reception/accounts staff totalling 5.
