Salary - Circa £26,000pa

A full-time permanent vacancy has arisen within the Equine Pillar for an Administrator (VAT & Finance), forming part of the Customer Service & Administration Team.  This role provides first- and second-line customer support and VAT administrative services to the Racing & Breeding industries.   

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with dynamic and passionate teams across the Equine Pillar, including Racing, Bloodstock, and the General Stud Book. The Equine Pillar is committed to upholding and advancing the highest standards in the industry. 

This position is a Permanent full-time position, working 35 hours per week, on a variable working pattern across Monday – Sunday, 9.00am – 5.00pm. 

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Administration of VAT and Retrospective VAT

  • BHA Racing Finance Administration

  • Production & maintenance of racing and breeding records

  • Liaison with industry stakeholders

  • Second line query resolution

  • Completion of administration tasks in line with agreed SLAs

  • Assisting with any other function of Accounts & Equine Services teams when required 

Skill Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of VAT and Finance processes and procedures required to complete functions and resolve second line queries

  • Experience of Microsoft Excel.

  • The ability to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Able to keep pace with updates to processes and procedures

  • Ensuring the services provided to all customers are executed correctly and accurately

  • The role will suit an individual who is a quick learner who is accurate and organised

  • A flexibility of approach will also be critical in a fast-changing environment

  • An understanding and interest in the racing & breeding industries would be beneficial but is not essential

The role is office based during probation with a view to work 2 days at home after a successful probation.
