Equine Nursing Assistant / Registered Veterinary Nurse

We have a fantastic opportunity for a reliable, hardworking, enthusiastic, and motivated Equine Nursing Assistant / Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at our state-of-the-art RCVS accredited Equine Hospital just outside of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

As a keen team player, you will be working within our experienced veterinary and support staff teams to deliver the best care and service to our patients and clients. We cover a wide variety of patients from high-end competition horses to much loved family pets. 

The core skills for a successful candidate are:

• Excellent attention to detail

• Confident and competent horse handling skills

• Varied equine husbandry and industry experience

• Able to work well as an individual and as part of a team

• Able to use their own initiative to assist our clients

• Good organisational skills

The role will include assisting with all aspects of in-patient and out-patient nursing care covering a wide range medical, surgical and diagnostic procedures. Depending on your qualification the role will include assisting with:

• Adult and neonatal ICU nursing.

• Surgical nursing.

• Diagnostic imaging including radiography, ultrasound, scintigraphy & MRI.

• Ambulatory visits to assist the veterinary team 

You will be required to participate in a night, weekend, and bank holiday rota on a shared basis.

This is a permanent, part time role working 32 hours a week, 8-hour days. For this role we offer 24 days holiday (including bank holidays) per year, plus an additional bonus day off for your birthday, CPD is actively encouraged with a CPD allowance, free on-site parking, employee discount, and a health cash plan scheme. Salary depending on experience.
