The National Horseracing College is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated Engagement and Digital Marketing Assistant to join our small and dedicated marketing team.
As one of only two specialist horseracing colleges in the UK, the National Horseracing College is an independent training provider delivering training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved an Ofsted Grade 2 in 2022.
About the Role
This is a varied role combining learner engagement, recruitment, outreach and digital marketing. You will help raise awareness of the College, training courses and the career opportunities available within horseracing and the wider equine industry.
A key part of the role will involve building relationships with schools, colleges, careers advisers and organisations working with young people. You will represent the College at careers fairs, recruitment events and other outreach activities, delivering presentations and speaking directly with prospective learners, parents, teachers and other audiences.
You will also be responsible for creating and curating engaging content across the College’s social media channels, supporting digital marketing campaigns and helping to grow the College’s online communities. You will have the opportunity to be creative, develop new ideas and use digital platforms to reach and engage new audiences.
The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is confident working with people and can move easily between face-to-face engagement and digital marketing. You will be organised, proactive and digitally savvy, with the ability to manage your own workload and turn ideas into action.
You will need:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Confidence presenting to and engaging with a wide range of audiences
Experience of social media and digital content creation
Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
A creative and proactive approach to marketing and engagement
A willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Flexibility to work evenings and a limited number of weekend days
A full, clean driving licence
The ability to reliably commute to Doncaster
Experience within marketing, communications, education, recruitment or a similar environment would be advantageous. Knowledge of horseracing or the wider equine industry would also be beneficial.
The role is hybrid, although regular office-based work at the College is required.
