Hilton Herbs and Verm-X are UK-based manufacturers of premium natural supplements for horses and pets. For over 30 years these brands have harnessed the power of plants to create trusted products that support the health and wellbeing of animals. Based in Somerset but selling across Europe and America the team is small but passionate. We are looking for an in-market representative to support our European growth.
The Business Development Manager – Europe will support our commercial expansion across France and other European markets. This is a key strategic role that involves identifying new market opportunities, developing distributor and retail partnerships, and liaising closely with our France-based 3PL provider to ensure operational efficiency. The successful candidate will work alongside our Sales, Marketing, Production and Logistics teams to support long-term growth in the region.
Responsibilities
Market & Business Development
Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for France and other European territories.
Identify, approach, and onboard new distributors and retailers.
Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with existing partners throughout Europe.
Conduct in-depth market research to understand local trends, regulations, and consumer needs.
Sales & Account Management
Provide support and training to French and other European resellers and distributors to ensure brand consistency.
Analyse sales data, track performance, and report on KPIs to identify and act on growth opportunities.
Operations
Act as the key point of contact for our third-party logistics (3PL) providers in France.
Liaise with the UK-based production and logistics team to ensure smooth stock flow, coordinating product availability, deliveries and restocking.
Monitor fulfilment performance and resolve logistical issues proactively with the 3PL partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with the UK-based marketing team to tailor promotional campaigns and product launches for European audiences.
Provide feedback on regional customer needs to inform product development and localisation strategies.
Collaborate with the customer service, 3PLs, marketing, production and logistics teams to ensure an excellent customer experience across all channels.
Develop and maintain relationships with media partners and brand ambassadors.
Events & Brand Representation
Represent Hilton Herbs and Verm-X at European trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
Champion the brand’s values and products with passion and professionalism.
Requirements
First-hand equine knowledge and equestrian experience are a must.
Strong organisational skills and a proactive mindset.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
Experience in business development or international sales, preferably in the animal health, pet care, or supplements industry, is desirable.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a commercial mindset.
Experience working with 3PLs or coordinating cross-border logistics and inventory flow.
Fluent in English and French; additional European languages are a strong advantage.
Willingness to travel within Europe as needed.
Passionate about animals and natural health.
The role is field based (travel) with time also split between the Head Office in Somerset and home working. The role is open on a full or part time basis.
