Vet Way is an established wholesaler of large animal veterinary products, supplying to vet practices, governments and wholesalers around the world. We are a market leader in both bovine and ovine blood collection kits and our product range includes a wide variety of veterinary consumables, specimen shippers, chemical liquids and powders.
Established in 1999, the Vet Way HQ is located in its purpose-built factory and warehousing site in York, United Kingdom.
My client is currently seeking a Business Development Executive to join their team, this is a hybrid role partly based at the Head Office in York, and partly homebased.
We are looking for a confident communicator and team player who has a proven record in delivering new business sales. Someone who target driven and who has a passion or background in animal health. You will be required to connect with veterinary buying groups and practices directly over the telephone with a view to closing prospect business and delivering a first-class Customer Service.
The ideal candidate will enjoy speaking with new customers over the telephone, taking a driven, keen approach to New Business Sales.
The role will be target driven with a great opportunity for career development with the benefit of un-capped quarterly commissions/sales bonuses.
You will be responsible for recording and managing data held on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
A couple of times a year, the sales team will be required to attend veterinary trade events, this will require the candidate to be on overnight trips away.

Responsibilities include:
Meeting quarterly sales budget and KPI’s
Qualify and follow up on all sales leads and generate new prospect leads using external sources.
Contacting existing and new customers to build strong working relationships whilst developing their understanding of our products and services (B2B).
Managing accounts and growing them accordingly with the support of the wider Sales team
Support additional projects to improve the overall sales performance of the business.
Proactively build and develop contact lists then manage and maintain client relationships and based upon targeted geographic and product areas.
Maximise all revenue opportunities by ensuring customers are aware of the full range of Vet Way products and services.
Ensure customer quotations are prepared in accordance with company guidelines.
Record interactions with customers on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
To develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of the Veterinary Market, all Vet Way products and supported brands, services, rates, relevant administration and operational processes.
Work closely with the Managing Director in building solid relationships and support the development of new business.
Essential Skills, Knowledfge and Experience
Strong outbound sales experience in a targeted environment
Professional, articulate and a team player
Proven consultative selling experience
Passion, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
A desire to succeed in sales focused organisation
Confidence with interacting with customers by telephone
Must be able to accurately follow all company processes and procedures
Ambition to exceed the expectations of each customer account
Must be a positive, focused individual who is able to work in collaboration with others people internally and externally in a polite and confident manner
To be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team as and when required
To be self-motivated and demonstrate self-management skills
Excellent time management skills
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Computer literate –Microsoft Office packages
Candidates need to live locally to York in order to satisfy working 2 days per week in the office.
