An exciting opportunity has opened up at the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) for an Administration Assistant at our office near Wetherby. This is a varied and demanding role which would suit a confident self-starter.  Full or part time.

BETA was formed in 1979 and has grown to be recognised and accepted as the official representative body for the equestrian manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade.

We currently have 800 member companies, covering a wide range of businesses including not only retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers, but also agents, dealers and many service based businesses. BETA is dedicated to supporting and promoting the interests of its members within the equestrian industry.

We are a small, closely knit team with an opportunity for a reliable new member to join us as Administration assistant.

This is a varied role which will involve many different aspects and responsibilities to support the smooth operation of the association. The position is office based but with the possibility after the initial trial period to work a day a week from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event planning and organisation including training courses, business awards, Gala Dinners, meetings and conferences.

  • Regular member communications

  • Processing membership applications

  • Marketing and PR (including use of social media)

  • The coordination of different assurance schemes

  • Invoicing

  • Managing a variety of projects throughout the year

  • Website updates

  • Minute taking at meetings

Desirable Qualities

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Organised with the ability to prioritise workload

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Flexibility

  • Have the ability to work independently and proactively

  • Good keyboard skills and competence with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Familiarity with Google forms

  • Have a good equestrian knowledge

This role does involve occasional overnight travel away for events and training courses.

The role is offered on a full time basis, (part time 30 hrs maybe considered). The role is office based at our HQ with the possibility of a day from home after a successful probationary period.   

Salary dependant on experience.
