Brian Meehan Ltd is a busy and professional horse racing yard seeking a full time Accounts Manager to join our team. This is a key role within the business, and we are ideally looking for someone with a background in horse racing who understands the structure of the industry processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing weekly payroll, including collating and calculating staff overtime

  • Managing pool money and pension contributions

  • Maintaining accurate partnership account records

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns to Weatherbys

  • Producing monthly invoices to owners

  • Analysing and monitoring veterinary and farrier charges

  • Maintaining and monitoring cash flow

  • Managing company accounts using Sage

  • Reconciling bank accounts

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous accounts/bookkeeping experience (essential)

  • Experience within the horse racing industry (desirable)

  • Strong knowledge of Sage (essential)

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
