At the heart of the campus is the worldclass Bishop Burton Equine Centre, a professionalstandard facility that gives students access to the same technology and environments used across elite sport and industry. The centre features the impressive Bishop Burton Therapy Centre, complete with a water treadmill, CET equine spa, solarium and Zamar therapy systems, alongside a dedicated Rider Fitness and Performance Suite. With three indoor arenas - including a 500seat competition arena with café - four outdoor arenas and stabling for more than 100 horses, students train and learn in an environment designed to mirror realworld practice.

Bishop Burton’s commitment to innovation is reflected in its specialist equipment, which includes Quintic gait analysis software, FLIR thermal imaging cameras, Polar heart rate monitors, Synchronicity rein tension gauges, a dedicated feed analysis lab, loadsol® pressure sensors and extensive laboratory resources. This cuttingedge technology allows students to develop advanced skills in performance analysis, rehabilitation, coaching and equine science, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

FdSc Applied Equine Management (Coaching)

This dynamic programme equips you with the practical equine management skills and scientific understanding needed to support horse health, welfare and performance. You’ll study key areas of equine care while gaining extensive hands‑on experience within our busy commercial equine centre, ensuring you’re industry‑ready. For those interested in coaching, the dedicated pathway develops your ability to enhance the horse‑and‑rider partnership through applied coaching techniques and performance‑focused science, preparing you to excel in a wide range of equine careers.

BSc (Hons) Equine Business Management

This forward‑thinking programme is perfect for anyone wanting to master the four key pillars of equine business - human resources, finance, management and marketing - while gaining real‑world experience in our state‑of‑the‑art commercial equine facilities. You’ll apply your learning through core modules such as event management, sales and operations, and explore how you can drive smarter business decisions across the equestrian sector. BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Science and Coaching

BSc (Hons) Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation

The equine industry is increasingly seeking skilled practitioners who can support horse health, welfare and performance through a holistic, science‑driven approach, and this programme equips you with the knowledge and practical experience to meet that demand. You’ll build strong foundations in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, behaviour, nutrition and exercise science while developing hands‑on therapy and rehabilitation skills in our state‑of‑the‑art equine therapy centre. Further Education Courses and Apprenticeships

Access to Higher Education Diploma in Land-Based Studies – Equine

Access to Higher Education courses are designed to prepare students aged 19+ for a Foundation Degree programme. This course is for students with a passion for working with horses and develops the practical skills and knowledge needed to progress into Higher Education.

Level 3 in Equine Management

Are you looking to develop an active equestrian career that includes riding, teaching, equine science and therapy? This course will provide you with practical applied experience for all units.

Whilst studying the Level 3 in Equine Management you will have the opportunity to tailor units to your particular area of interest, with pathways focusing on rehabilitation and therapy or equitation and coaching.

Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship

As an apprentice, you will provide and co-ordinate the day-to-day care of horses. You will lead by example and be able to implement effective systems of work. You will earn a wage and be released to study during your working week.

Level 2 Technical Certificate in Equine Care

This course has been developed for ambitious people wishing to pursue a career within the equine industry, providing students with an excellent opportunity to develop a sound knowledge and understanding of horse care and or riding through a mix of practical, classroom and work-based study.

Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced staff, gain job-specific skills, knowledge and behaviours within the equine industry. You will earn a wage and be released to study during your working week.
