An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Studbook Administrator with the National Pony Society, based in our Warwickshire office.

The National Pony Society is responsible for the management of the British Riding Pony studbook alongside the promotion of all native pony breeds, encompassing shows, welfare and best practice.

The ideal person will be pro-active and self-motivated and used to working in a busy environment.

This role will suit an organised person with knowledge of the equestrian industry who can bring their strong people skills and administration experience to the team. The primary focus of this role is to support the studbook committee and manage the British Riding Pony studbook database to meet the legal requirements stipulated by DEFRA.

The role will also include administrative support at shows and events run by the Society, administrative support to the Welfare & Education committee and general support to other members of the team. The ideal candidate will need to be a focused individual with great attention to detail and a strong ability to prioritise their workload with a flexible approach to work.

Previous experience of working within an office environment together with working knowledge of the MS Office Suite is essential. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is vital.

A varied and interesting role based in an extremely friendly office with full training provided.

This position is based at the National Pony Society offices at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, CV8 2LG.

37 Hours per week – Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

Some overtime may be required during busy periods

Immediate start preferred

20 days holidays (plus 8 bank holidays) per annum

Duties include:

  • Production and maintenance of the British Riding Pony studbook
  • Development of initiatives to support breeders and promote the British Riding Pony breed
  • Be a point of contact for all studbook activities
  • Provide a quality service to the studbook committee and Board of Trustees including minute taking at committee meetings
  • Communication with breeders both verbal and written
  • Building and sustaining relationships with external organisations
  • Work with Line Manager/nominated persons to assist with tasks, including show preparation, educational schemes and marketing promotions.
  • Deal with day to day general queries relating to the NPS - diverting those not handled to a nominated expert
  • Attending shows and events run by the Society
  • Expected to demonstrate a willingness to take on a range of tasks and to develop new skills, as appropriate

Salary dependent on experience
