An exciting new role to join our dynamic marketing team on the Wellington Estate. Based at Wellington Riding the right candidate will have experience in the equestrian industry either professionally, personally or both. A passion for horses is essential.

Wellington Riding is a leading Riding School and international competition venue. We run a portfolio of International, National and Unaffiliated Showjumping and Dressage events throughout the year in addition to our annual International Horse Trials.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Social Media and Content Coordinator will predominately be responsible for creating engaging event-related content for use across Wellington Ridings’ social media channels with the guidance of the General Manager from interviews with high-profile riders and judges to capturing behind-the-scenes action.
  • You will be confident in creating “straight to social” videos, live content, working with videographers and developing relationships with equestrian influencers.
  • At times you will assist the wider marketing team in planning the content of day-to-day services such as our riding school, adult camps, junior holidays, facilities hire and professional education to engage a loyal following.
  • In addition to creating multimedia content, you will have an excellent theoretical knowledge of copywriting for social media.
  • You will be knowledgeable of the latest social trends and manage the social media event calendar across Wellington Ridings platforms; in line with the broader marketing plans of the Head of Marketing and wider Estate.
  • A basic understanding of dressage, showjumping and eventing is essential with a good eye for detail for appropriate equestrian imagery.

Key Skills

  • Proficient in Canva, Hootsuite and Adobe Suite
  • Experienced with all social media platforms
  • Understanding of social analytics, insights and paid advertising
  • Experience in editing social videos, social media graphics and copywriting
  • Equestrian knowledge
  • Proven track record in social media growth and engagement
  • Confident in photography

The Person

  • Social media marketing degree or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in a similar role
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident to work independently and as part of a busy team
  • Time management skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings for key events

Reporting to: Head of Marketing & PR

Line Manager: General Manager

Important Information

Working hours: A part-time role of 3 days a week, 08:45am – 5:45pm. This role has great flexibility with the option of an annualised contract to allow for full-time hours to be worked during key events and time off during summer months alongside annual holiday entitlement. There will be regular weekend work and flexibility needed on event days.

Salary: Package dependent on individual suitability for the position.
