Sales & Business Development Manager

Global Herbs are excited to announce the search for a Sales and Business Development Manager for Southern England.

We are looking for an experienced sales and account executive who has excellent rapport building, understands the equine business market and supporting customers to receive expert advice to support all equines.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services- lead conversion
  • Using warm leads or new leads win sustainable accounts
  • Meet with customers in stores and over the phone regularly to build relationships
  • Conduct product training for account members to encourage ‘in store/online ambassadors. Arranging external training where appropriate
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management.
  • Plan sales campaigns and discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department- negotiate marketing deals where appropriate.
  • Keep up to date with news and events in the equine, farming and pet industry and update the wider team.
  • Cross selling where possible (Equine, Poultry, Canine) to grow the scope of the account
  • Organise and represent Global Herbs at key networking events to raise the company profile and brand
  • Ensure the wider team are kept up to date with accounts order patterns, forecasts, promotional activity.
  • Exceed key sales targets
  • Investigate and propose new target markets
  • Market insight- competitor analysis, competitive shop, new product releases

In order to full service this role, the successful candidate must have the following qualifications / experience / attributes:

  • Proven sales experience essential
  • A genuine love and passion for Horses
  • Degree in Business development/management, Equine related or extensive experience gained.
  • GCSE’s Excellent numeracy and English skills essential
  • ICT skills and use of excel for data reporting
  • Equine experience and knowledge of the sector
  • There is also a large emphasis on brand awareness, supporting events and penetrating new markets.

The position is ideal for a self-starter who's ambitious, works well with sole responsibilities and communicates well within a team.

The role will require travel to customers and training yards across the entire of southern England from Cornwall to Suffolk, with some work from home.

Candidates must live within territory - Ideally to west of London and M4 corridor(but we are flexible for best the candidate).

Car is provided, laptop iPad phone etc, 40hr week

20 days holiday.

Pension provided

A competitive salary dependent upon experience.
