Baileys Horse Feeds, one of the leading horse feed manufacturers in the UK, is looking for an Equine Nutritionist, to be based at our Head Office, in Essex.
 
The Role
  • Providing feed advice via telephone and e-mail helpline, as well as via social media and on Baileys tradestands.

  • Communicating product and technical knowledge to a wide diversity of customers.

  • Providing technical support to our Sales and Marketing teams nationwide.

  • Visiting yards to provide technical support and practical advice to customers.

  • Writing and delivering talks, webinars and presentations to equestrian groups, such as Pony or Riding Clubs.

  • Writing articles or technical literature.

  • Working with the Marketing, Sales and Nutrition teams on the production and launch of new products.

  • Staying abreast of nutritional research and trends, as well as regulatory changes.

  • Evaluating the nutritional value of feeds and forage and producing rations and diet plans for customers’ horses, based on our analyses.

  • An involvement in the formulation of existing and new feeds.

 
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • A degree in equine or animal science, or similar, with a comprehensive understanding of equine nutrition. 

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of a range of equine disciplines and the equine industry as a whole.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability and experience to empathise with a wide range of horse owners.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • IT and PC literacy – Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and CRM systems.

  • Time management and good organisational skills required.

  • A flexible approach to the role and a willingness and ability to travel and stay away from home, including some evening and weekend work.

 
Beneficial Experience and Skills
  • Knowledge of smallholder and/or poultry nutrition

  • Use of Microsoft Teams, Zoom or other digital communication tools.

  • Presentation skills.

  • Analytically minded.

  • Problem solver.

Salary commensurate with skill level.  Company pension and health insurance available after probationary period.
