ANNUAL SALARY £27,164 per annum
Full-Time (37 hours per week and days will reflect commercial activity including events and shows)

Here at Bishop Burton College, our equine facilities are amongst the best in the country, having had multi-million pound investment.  The facilities include 3 outdoor arenas, 3 indoor arenas and stabling for over 100 horses, and rider and horse therapy facilities, providing our students with outstanding resources.  We provide Equine courses up to degree level.  Our main indoor arena, Bishop Burton Arena is designed to hold competitions and events, as well as lectures and practical demonstrations. The arena also houses five classrooms, permanent seating for 500 with capacity to increase to over 1000, commentary boxes and PA system, therapy and demonstration rooms with viewing galleries and VIP hospitality areas.

We are looking for a proactive, organised and passionate individual who will primarily be responsible for successful delivery of a varied equine events programme, and be central to the effective and efficient operational administration of the equine office.

A key role within the Equine Management Team, the postholder will be central to the effective and efficient operational administration of the office, generating income and delivery of equine events across both Bishop Burton and Riseholme campuses. The successful delivery of these activities will ensure the profile of the College is maximised as a destination of specialist technical education and activity as well as commercial income secured.

Bishop Burton College includes the Riseholme College campus and the postholder may be required to carry out duties at both campuses. 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the delivery of financially beneficial events for the College through the application, planning and organisation of local, regional, national and international equine events. This will include weekend and flexible working.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, mandatory and legislative requirements for events and commercial activities, including policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments.

  • Be responsible for effective entries and events processes for all events.

  • Plan and implement systems for effective business improvement and the timely, transparent and accurate production of business information.

  • Proactively identify, seek agreement on and create effective working relationships, networks and partnerships (internal and external).

  • Manage, support and undertake administrative duties ensuring the successful operational day to day running of the Equine department.

  • Management and supervision of the Administration and Events Assistant

  • Plan, drive and support existing and new initiatives for income generation and sponsorship.

  • Plan for, report on and support the delivery of financial targets and commercial initiatives.

  • Effectively highlight, promote and market the department’s work. Create, develop and deliver a marketing, social media plan and online content for Commercial Equine.

  • Collect, collate and review customer feedback to help shape strategy, business plans, services and student experience.

  • Contribute to, support and report on the delivery and monitoring of events and business initiatives.

  • Take part in all staff College events such as Spring Live
