Grandstand Media is a team of specialists with many years’ experience planning, organising and running equine events. Most notably Horse of the Year Show (Birmingham, CSI 3*) which GML has organised since 1997 the event now welcomes over 60,000 visitors in October at the NEC.  The British Showjumping National Championships, Stoneleigh Horse Shows, The Showing Register and Showing World have since been added to the company profile.

This is a great opportunity for a Digital Marketing Executive to join Grandstand Media Limited (GML) for Horse of the Year Show and other projects/tasks across the group.

As a Digital Marketing Executive, you will be managing the online presence and executing the marketing strategy for Horse of the Year Show and for the associated brands. Your role will be highly varied, utilising a spread of marketing skills. You will be responsible for managing social media platforms, creating editorial content, design work, managing website content and working alongside our agencies and suppliers.

This is a full-time position located at the GML offices at Stoneleigh Park.  Additionally, during an event the applicant will be required, along with the company’s other personnel (at the expense of the company) to be based at the host venue of the event.  This currently involves staying at the NEC Birmingham for up to ten days in October and other stay away locations as required at other times of the year.

This person plays an important role in the delivery of marketing messages and contributes to audience growth, follower engagement and attendance at events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage the online presence of Horse of the Year Show and our associated business.

  • Manage all social media channels

  • Strategy development to constantly improve the website traffic, brand presence and attendance at the event.

  • Implement and maintain a 12-month marketing plan

  • Email marketing campaign creation and execution, as well as ongoing customer communication

  • Manage and increase the subscriber database

  • Copywriting

  • Design work

  • Website content management

  • Prepare marketing reports such as marketing campaign ROI

  • Managing supplier relationships including print, web, design, media and press

 Experience, Knowledge and Skills required

  • Minimum 2-3 years in a marketing or communications role with relevant industry experience in digital marketing

  • Sound digital marketing concepts and a solid understanding of social media

  • Experience in preparing, writing and proofing advertising copy

  • Excellent written and verbal skills using Microsoft Office

  • Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign preferred

  • Understanding of paid media and marketing automation tools

  • Ability to work independently and has good initiative

We offer a competitive salary, working hours of Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

Working at events may require a minimum of 8 weekend days per annum

We require a flexible approach to your hours as, the successful candidate must understand the requirement for extra hours (within the basic salary contract) both prior to and during the Events.
