Location of work: Shrewley, Warwickshire
Salary: circa £19,000 - £22,000 plus benefits.

As part of a wider administration team within the Support Services function, your main focus will be to organise online and face-to-face training courses as defined by our Sports, Training and Volunteer Officers. Courses will range from Safeguarding, Sports, coaching and test bookings and will predominantly be attended by our Volunteers. You will have strong organisational and communication skills, be comfortable with a range of IT tools, including MSOffice, and be able to work to deadlines.

About The Pony Club:

The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for young people interested in ponies and riding. Founded in England in 1929, and granted independent charitable status on 1st January 1997, there are around 330 Branches and 480 Centres in the UK alone. The Pony Club has been the starting point for a large majority of equestrian team members and medal winners.
The Pony Club is represented in no less than 27 countries with a worldwide membership exceeding 110,000 making it the largest association of young riders in the world. Membership is available to children until the end of The Pony Club Year or the Centre Membership Subscription Year, whichever is relevant, in which they become 25 years old.

Core responsibilities:

  • As requested by the Sports, Training and Volunteer officers, add courses to the Entrymaster system and share them onto the website.

  • Monitor course bookings and deal with any queries about the courses, escalating to the relevant officer as required.

  • Ensure any course documentation or links are sent to attendees in good time.

  • Monitor course attendance and update in the Entrymaster system.

  • Issue any certificates or awards based on completion of a course

  • Update the Pelham system as a result of course being attended.

  • Follow up with senior volunteers as required to promote attendance on courses.

  • Assist in other duties as requested by your manager.


Skills and Experience desired:

  • Demonstrable administration skills and experience

  • Attention to detail and ability to raise issues if necessary

  • Proven IT skills in Excel, Outlook and use of systems

  • Good verbal, written and inter-personal skills

  • Good telephone manner

  • Ability to work on your own initiative

  • Team player

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
