A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, intelligent, confident individual who is determined to succeed in sales and marketing, to join one of the UKs leading manufacturers of natural healthcare supplements for animals.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and building our existing Mail Order, Wholesale and Retail sales, as well as actively seeking to develop additional business within these markets.
The successful candidate will:
Be expected to develop sales through maintaining and building strong working relationships with our various accounts.
Plan, organise and develop structured programmes to identify potential business opportunities within our markets, communicate these plans and then disseminate information gained to senior management.
Provide product information, customer services and daily account management to existing: Mail Order, Retail, Wholesale and On Line accounts. In depth product training will be given to the successful applicant.
A flexible attitude towards working hours and location is needed, as the successful applicant will be required to attend trade and public shows such as Crufts, Badminton, London Pet Show and Your Horse Live with our trade stand. This work will involve some weekend working and include overnight stays away from home.
Experience of, and an interest in natural healthcare and the equine, pet, supplements industry is an advantage.
The ideal candidate should live within easy daily commuting distance, to our offices near Crewkerne, Somerset.
Key Skills required include: Comprehensive knowledge of horses and pets Friendly , confident and professional telephone manner Good IT skills including knowledge of software systems e.g. (Excel, Word, Sage, Powerpoint) Adept at relationship building with proven / demonstrable results Full clean driving license Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Self - motivated individual, able to work on own initiative Knowledge of another language an advantage

Assistant to Group Operations Manager
Grandstand Group the organisers of Horse of the Year Show are currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant that will principally be based within its Head Office in Harpenden. Additionally during events throughout the year the applicant will be required, along with the companys other personnel (at the expense of the company) to be based at other locations including the NEC Birmingham for 2.5 weeks in October.

Duties: General administration and filing for the operations department Research, source and present infrastructure requirements for events Presenting options to the Operations Manager regarding infrastructure Dealing with contractors and public visitors at companys events Assisting with the build up and breakdown and the general running of the events Dealing with contractor and event admin Site inspections of host events Attend contractor offices for product inspections Experience in health and safety issues and the production of risk assessments would be advantageous
Location: Mainly office based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, however you will be required to work off site and stay away from home during events. You will be required to travel to meetings, inspections etc.
Hours of Work & Salary: Monday-Friday inclusive 9.00 am 5.00 pm A minimum of 8 weekend days will be required The applicant must understand the requirement for extra hours (within the basic salary contract) both prior to and during the Events Salary based on experience

Equine Products Sales & Marketing Assistant
On behalf of a client, Equine Careers are seeking applications for the following role.
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a self motivated person to develop the UK and International market for The Company products. The successful appointee will work with the company Directors and the Customer Account Team in increasing new and existing business. This important additional business will be centred on building wider relationships with UK and International retail partners.
Attendance at equestrian trade and sporting shows is required and will involve multiple nights away from home.
Key skills required include: Good working knowledge of IT systems, MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and first hand knowledge of equestrian activities (horse owner, competitor, leisure rider, past working experience, an AI Plus would be advantageous). Numeracy and literacy skills (English and Mathematics) are required at GCSE or preferably higher, level. Full, clean driving license is essential.

The Company is a major brand name in Equine Innovations in the UK and is the market leader in the name brand sector in the UK. In order to further develop the UK & International business, there is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and intelligent person to undertake business development activities designed to engage new retail partners (tack shops, catalogue retailers and on-line retailers).
The core requirement is to organise a structured programme of outreach, identifying potential opportunities, making an initial contact by telephone and/or email and then following up this initial activity with a staged procedure leading to a reportable outcome and additional business.
The ability to plan such a campaign and communicate plans and outcomes to the company management is expected. Presentation skills using packages such as MS PowerPoint would be a distinct advantage but training in the use of these packages and in presentation skills are offered as required.
Further activities will include the organising of a schedule of away missions, booking of space at venues, liaising with show organisers. These activities can include attendance at HOYS, the BETA trade fair, major equestrian events as well as attendance at retailer training events and bitting clinics. Attendance at these events is normally expected and could involve regular overnight travel within the UK and Internationally.
The reporting structure is directly to the company Managing Director and the successful candidate will be working to an agreed budget. In addition, business development activities, the appointee will be required to work with support, on the preparation of editorial articles for the Equestrian press.
Going forward, the ability to innovate methods to develop the effectiveness and engagement of the wider retailer base would be sought. The potential for career development up to a managerial level and supporting international sales expansion is a possibility for the right candidate.
